Warm congratulations to Dan Kalifa, a doctoral student in the faculty, on winning the Rahamimoff Grant from the Israel-US Binational Foundation (BSF).
Dan conducts his research under the supervision of Dr. Kira Radinsky, and focuses on developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) models for understanding proteins. The research has great potential to change the ways of drug discovery, disease diagnosis, and the development of high-precision biotechnological solutions.
The grant will support Dan's travel to Stanford University, where he will conduct research in one of the leading laboratories in his field with the aim of creating long-term research partnerships. Alongside his work at the Technion, which includes collaboration with the laboratory of Prof. Avi Schroeder from the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, Dan published two articles together with Dr. Eric Horvitz, Chief Scientist of Microsoft Worldwide.
