Prof. Yaniv Romano, member of the Young Israeli Academy and faculty member with a joint appointment in the Taub Faculty of Computer Science and the Andrew and Erna Viterbi Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering: "My career began at the Technion. I dedicated most of my graduate studies to developing methods for reconstructing an image from a poor-quality measurement - image enlargement, sharpening, and more. I was privileged to work with Prof. Michael Elad, my doctoral supervisor, who exposed me to the beauty of mathematics. [After my post-doctorate] I returned home - to the Technion, the place that exposed me to the magic of research. The students in my research group are amazing, and we all share a dream: to develop technology that will hopefully help our world become a better and more trustworthy place. A world where artificial intelligence will reveal the truth to us."
