Lumana - Calcalist
Sunday, August 3, 2025

Lumana, a company that develops AI-based video security solutions, has now raised $40 million in a round, adding to the $24 million it raised about a year ago.

Lumana was founded by Sagi Ben-Moshe, a graduate of the faculty (2010), the company's chief scientist is Prof. Ron Kimmel from the faculty, and the company's chief technologist is Ofir Mola.

The company uses artificial intelligence and visual language models to turn any camera into a real-time intelligent monitoring, detection, and response system. Lumana's platform combines AI for instant analysis of over a billion images per day, enabling behavior-based event detection, rapid investigations, and the creation of operational insights. Users can centrally manage thousands of cameras and sites, receive alerts and smart analytics related to specific behaviors and objects in real time, and efficiently search for an object or event in millions of hours of footage with results within seconds.
