Prof. Eliezer Kantorowitz, one of the founders of the faculty, passed away this week
Prof.Kantorowitz was born in December 1931 in Israel (then Palestine) to a father born in Russia and a mother born in Denmark, and fought in the War of Liberation.
He completed his studies for a degree in ship engineering in Denmark and later specialized in computing for ship engineering.
He began his career at the Technion in 1960 at the Computer Center and joined the Faculty of Computer Science upon its establishment.
His research dealt with software engineering and user interfaces and his articles focused on design, reliability, and a reliable and simple relationship with users. Over the years, Prof. Kantorowitz guided dozens of students.
Eliezer Kantorowitz was one of the founders of the computer science department, which later became a faculty.
He will remain engraved as a kind-hearted and cheerful man.
