Prof. Hgit Attiya wins the 2011 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed ComputingCS congratulates Prof. Hagit Attiya on receiving the prestigious 2011 Edsger W. Dijkstra Prize in Distributed Computing, together with Amotz Bar-Noy and Danny Dolev, for their paper "Sharing Memory Robustly in Message-Passing Systemswhich" which appeared in the Journal of the ACM 1995. This fundamental paper presents the first asynchronous fault-toleran simulation of shared memory in a message passing system.
