The International Day of the Arabic Language at the United Nations is celebrated every year on 18 December, the day on which a decision was taken by the UN General Assembly to make Arabic one of the official and working languages of the United Nations.
Students from the Taub Faculty of Computer Science at the Technion recently developed a special app for the "Madrasa
project that will help Arabic learners. The app also includes a voice recognition component that will allow tens of thousands of students in online courses to practice their Arabic pronunciation.
