Tel Aviv University (TAU),
School of Mathematical Sciences

Tel-Aviv University (TAU) is the largest university in Israel. The School of Mathematical Sciences consists of four departments:
  • Pure Mathematics,
  • Applied Mathematics,
  • Computer Sciences, and
  • Statistics and Operational Research,
and altogether has 85 faculty members in diverse fields. This structure of the school facilitates collaboration between the different departments, and in particular between the department of Applied Mathematics and the department of Computer Sciences. In the Applied Mathematics Department there is a strong and active group in approximation theory and computer-aided-geometric-design (N. Dyn and D. Levin), that cooperates with the groups of computer graphics (D. Cohen-Or) and computer vision (H. Yeshurun) from the Computer Science Department.
