Keynote Presentations in Hebrew

Keynote '08 suffers from several bugs that prevent easy creation of Hebrew (and Arabic) presentations. These bugs include:

  1. Text in titles, bullets and text fields disappear when a slide contains any animation.
  2. There is no option to have the bullets appear at the right side.
  3. It is possible to write text in Hebrew, but you can not edit it afterwards.
  4. Text direction is determined according to the first character. Thus, it is not possible to write right-to-left text starting with an English word.

I prepared a Keynote presentation that explains and demonstrates how to overcome some of these difficulties.

Those who do not have Keynote can watch the presentation as a movie here (51MB), or, if you have low bandwidth, a low-resolution movie here (3MB).

The presentation meant for inexperienced users. For more experienced users, the solution can be outlined in a couple of sentences. Use a table of one cell instead of text boxes. Use tables of two columns for bullet fields. The right column should be narrow and hold the bullets.
