Abstract:

Prof. Harris is the head of of the CyberSecurity and Emergency 
Preparedness Institute at the University of Texas at Dallas. The talk will 
summarize several major research, industry, and government efforts in these 
areas. In particular, the Quality Measurements Repository System for the 
world-wide telecommunications industry, located at UTD, is considered one of 
the most secure systems in the world, and has met unusually rigid 
international security standards. Issues arising from a highly secure, 
highly available internet-based emergency response system called E-Plan are 
also presented.
