How to get an "X" view for ibm350

  1. Ask for Hummingbird cd and install it. In Xconfig set the following:
    • Screen Definition -> Window mode = Multiple
    • Communication -> Mode = Passive
  2. Download SSH Secure Shell client
    In the "Tunneling" Tab tick "Tunnel X11 connections"
  3. Run exceed
  4. With SSH Secure Shell client, connect to csd (and not ibm350 when working from home)
    Connect to ibm350 with the following line: ssh -X user@ibm350
  5. Try: xcalc&
Notice:
  • It works really slowly from home.
  • It is not possible to work from home in "Single" window mode.
