|Title:|| REMARKS ON OFFSET APPROXIMATION TECHNIQUES OF
|Authors:|| G. Elber
|Abstract:||We consider several offset approximation techniques. Overestimation and underestimation of offset curve approximation is examined in the context of existing methods. Specifically, we show that a common offset approximation technique is completely underestimating the offset, a result that is manifested as gouging in ball end machining. Furthermore, a comparison of the convergence rate of different existing offset approximation techniques is also presented.|
