Title: | The Private Workspace Model of Concurrency Control: Theory and Practice |
Authors: | Israel Gold |
CS0426.pdf | |
Abstract: | In the private workspace model of concurrency control the transaction management (TM) component of a datahase management system (DBMS) maintains a private workspace for each active transaction. Data items accessed by a transaction, regardless of access mode, are cached in this workspace. At transaction commit time, updates are made permanent in the database. This work studies the design, feasibility and performance advantages of private workspace based concurrency control algorithms. |
