| Abstract: | Problems in constructing, a simulation model of a class of data management systems are discussed. The DMS has full control over physical placement of data, and makes use of ad-hoc heuristics in its data segmentation algorithms. The model must contain three submodels: of the DMS, of data, and of the user processes over the data base. |
