Leading in Technology Convention

Leading in Technology ConventionAs a part of a series of events to mark the birthday of Anita Borg, the "Leading in Technology" convention was held on January 20th 2015. The convention, which targeted promoting gender equality and diversity in the fields of technology, was created due to a cooperation of the Computer Science Faculty, the Electrical Engineering Faculty, the WomenTechPRO program and the Google Anita Borg Scholarship Alumni community. In addition, during the convention, EMC awarded six female students (from the SC and EE faculties) excellence awards for promoting women in the fields of technology.

Dr. Kira Radinsky, a CS graduate and the founder of SalesPredict, opened the evening with a fascinating lecture about The Journey to predict the future. The conventions was sealed with a unique panel called "from ambitions to success" with the participation of Dr. Yael Villa, head of EMC's excellence center, Prof. Ayellet Tal of the EE Faculty, Dr. Yoel Mark, vice president of Yahoo! Labs and head of the research labs in Israel and India, and Mr. Emad Younis, president of Alfa Omega.
