HP Chair in Computing Engineering CeramonyOn Wednesday, June 6, 2007 a ceremony marking the establishment of the Hewlett Packard Chair in Computer Engineering was held in the Faculty. Prof. Moshe Sidi, Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, served as Master of Ceremonies. Prof. Yitzhak Apeloig, President of the Technion, Mr. Shane Robison, HP Executive Vice President of Strategy and Technology. Prof. Abraham Lempel, HP Senior Fellow and Lab Director for HP Labs Israel, Prof. Oded Shmueli, CS Dean and Prof. Craig Gotsman, CS, the first incumbent of the Hewlett-Packard Chair, addressed the audience. The guests included Mr. Pinni Perlmutter, CTO, Indigo; Mr. Alon David, R&D Director, Indigo; Mr. Oren Ariel, Chief Architect, Mercury; Mr Joshua Bakola, GM HP Israel; Prof. Peretz Lavie, Technion Vice President for Public Relations and Resource Development; and General (res.) Amos Horev, Israel Technion Society. Many HP and CS employees and faculty members also attended the ceremony.
