CS students develop server-less conference system

CS students develop server-less conference systemStudents in the Computer Science Department at the Technion, Emanual Grumbach and Erez Attar, have implemented a multi-user serverless video conference system as part of a semesterial project in the Distributed Systems Lab. The system developed by Grumbach and Attar is based on the JazzEnsemble toolkit to manage all the communication between the peers, using the Group Communication paradigm. Using JazzEnsemble gives the video conference software the capabilities of running with no central server, and efficiently managing the conference dynamic membership, ultimately targeting wireless mobile ad-hoc networks. The project was performed under the supervision of Alon Kama and Roy Friedman. More information can be found in the in the JazzEnsemble home site. See also article in Y-Net.
