KETI Delegation Visits CS Department.This afternoon, November 5, 2002, we hosted a distinguished delegation from Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI). KETI, a specialized research institute in the electronics and information fields, contributes to the reinforcement of international competitiveness of the electronics, information and other related components industries by fostering the R&D necessary for technological innovation and support of small and medium enterprises. KETI runs around 350 research projects, working with more than 1000 companies and manages an annual $50m investment budget. The group was greeted by the Dean and several faculty members and presented with an overview of the department, followed by visits to the The Laboratory for Computer Communication Networking (LCCN) and the The Center for Graphics and Geometric Computing (CGGC), including presentations by Reuven Cohen and Gershon Elber, and a demo presented by Itai Dabran. The delegation was led by Dr. Choon-Ho Kim, President of KETI. He expressed interest in mutual connections, including the possibility of temporary positions (for post-docs or faculty members) at KETI in Korea.
