Amir will describe challenges he faces working on large scale app identification, and why is that even important. This talk links to many other things we do at Facebook TLV, including the Onavo apps and our work as part of Internet.org, a Facebook initiative to make internet connectivity available for every human being on this plant.

Bio:
Amir Gershman is a software engineer in the Onavo data team at Facebook, where he focuses on building big data solutions for mobile analytics, helping product and business teams at Facebook make data driven decisions.

Prior to his work at Facebook Amir was a software engineer at Dalet Digital Systems, where he worked on building scalable backend services for the company's media management solutions which are used by large radio and television broadcasters. Before that Amir served as a research assistant working on online fraud detection systems for Deutsche Telekom research labs at BGU. Amir holds a masters degree in Computer Science from Ben Gurion University.
