Dr. Shlomo Kalish
Dr. Shlomo Kalish, a founding partner in Jerusalem Global Ventures, is one of Israel's leading technology investors. In 1999, Israel's second largest daily newspaper named Dr. Kalish as the fourth most influential personality in the Israeli economy. As a partner and founder of leading Israeli venture capital funds, he was responsible for the investments in Saifun Semiconductors, Exent, Oridion Medical, Oren Semiconductors, Optical Solutions, Amdocs, Galileo Technology, DSPC, and ESC Medical, and many others. Dr. Kalish holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the Department of Mathematics at MIT, an M.Sc. from the Sloan School of Management at MIT and a B.Sc. in Mathematics from Tel Aviv University. He had served in the Israeli Air Force as a fighter pilot. Dr. Kalish is active on the board of many non-profit and charitable organizations. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Israel Venture Association, and serves on the Board of Governors of the Technion. He is a faculty member at the Leon Recanati School of Management at Tel Aviv University.
Summary of the meeting:
We had the honor of having Dr. Shlomo Kalish as our guest speaker. In front of a packed auditorium with standing room only, Dr. Kalish presented the Ten Commandments for the Israeli entrepreneur. Dr. Kalish began with a brief description of his experiences and followed up with an illuminating depiction of the Ten Commandments. Each and every commandment was backed up with interesting, often comical, real life examples he has experienced in various leading positions in the Israeli Venture Capital industry. An open discussion between Dr. Kalish and the participants followed.
