Post-Doc opening at IRISA

INRIA, the French National Center for Computer Science and Control, is seeking to recruit a postdoctoral researcher on hybrid sparse / statistical models of audio signals. The full subject is available online at http://www.inria.fr/travailler/mrted/en/postdoc/details.html?nPostingTargetID=4832  The successful candidate will work in the METISS group at the public research institute IRISA under the supervision of Dr. Rémi Gribonval. IRISA is one of the leading Computer Science research lab in France, co-operated by INRIA, CNRS, University Rennes 1 and INSA Rennes. IRISA is associated with the Brittany extension of ENS-Cachan, which together with sister-schools ENS-Paris and ENS-Lyon, are the most prestigious research academic schools in France.
 Prospective candidates should have a background in signal processing and hold a PhD in applied mathematics or signal processing from may 2007 or after or be about to obtain one. Strong knowledge in signal processing, pattern recognition or statistics is requested, and expertise in C/C++ programming will be an asset, as well as experience with sparse models and/or speech modeling. Creativity, enthousiasm, initiative and the ability to work efficiently in a team will be appreciated.
