Why was this page created ?

The problem is that the "Orange" mode selection definition is much more complicated than what it seems to be. The main question is when exactly it (Orange Mode) should be used. The condition is that you have to decide for every case and case its relevance to O.M, which makes it even more complicated.

I decided to create a list that would contain all those questioned cases.

    1. Two spiders in the same zone are connected by tie/strand. Draw an additional zone around one of them. Sample#9
      1. CD Editor does not allow you to draw an "illegal" curve or paint it in orange
      2. The insertion of the shape causes the deletion of a tie/strand
      3. The insertion of the shape causes the tie/strand to be painted in orange
    2. While inserting a legal optimized spider, draw a large numbered group of motes in Universal zone. What should happen if you draw an additional shape right around this group of motes? Sample#8
      1. All motes except for one will be deleted
      2. All motes except for one will be painted in orange
      3. The shape contour will be painted in orange
    3. Several shapes are connected by arrows. If one of those shapes was to be deleted what should happen to its arrows? Sample#10
      1. Editor won't allow to delete the curve as an illegal operation or will paint the curve in orange
      2. The curve will be deleted & the arrows would be painted in orange
      3. The curve and its arrows will be deleted.
    4. Spider has a legs & motes in several zones. What should happen to them if one of these zones will be deleted or their possitionings         will be changed ? Sample#11
      1. Editor should abort the deletion with an "illegal operation" warning or will paint the zone in orange
      2. The zone will be deleted, legs and motes it containes should be painted in orange
      3. Legs and motes would be deleted right after zone's deletion.
The version 0.20 was the first version of  CDEditor where "Orange mode" was actually implemented, ever since then  the feature was updated several times (on every new version release). In version 0.27 the feature's engine was dramatically changed, so here the general changes summary:
  1.  There is no default "Orange mode" appearance: every illegal diagrams' element was previously painted in orange.
  2. Only one illegal element could be selected  as "orange" at the same time.
  3. The full list of diagrams' syntax violations is now in the View / Warnings. (the messages come in decreasing order: the first one is on the top) .
  4. The actual "O M" selection ( paint the relevant violation in orange ) performed by clicking on a relevant message.
